#87 "1st pose in marc chatov workshop"

18x24 oil....this was the first painting challenge of a 3 day workshop with marc chatov....this was probably the most difficult art workshop i have ever attempted.....i was very nervous and had a hard time grasping the whole concept of his approach in the beginning....this painting was not finished, but i was some what pleased with the colors...... did not get a good likeness of the model and the head seems a bit too large for the body, but i think i can work on that....... marc was a wonderful instructor..... i feel that i really walked away with a new sense of seeing color and mass.....really enjoyed all of the other artist and learned from seeing all of the different ways they handled the same subject..............2nd pose below

#86 " 2nd pose from marc chatov workshop"

16x20 oil.....this painting is from the 3rd day of marc chatov workshop.....we began the same as on the first day with massing in shapes.... 1st ....triangles, rectangles, cones, tubes, etc. then massing in colors....i was physically and emotionally exhausted after 3 days....i have never painted with such intensity.........but i suppose it is because human anatomy is very difficult for me.....but once again i did walk away with a new way of seeing color in skin tone and just being able to see, really see what you are looking at....but it is truly exhausting!

5x7 oil ....150.00 framed........this is an old home site here in newnan....painted from a photo taken last year... used my imagination and added water and some rolling hills....we have to be creative in the cold weather..... cabin fever !!!!!.....SOLD
