Hello!!!!! Is anyone there....I guess not since I have not posted since Nov. 2010....my precious mother passed away Dec. 3rd 2010 and I have been living in this camper taking care of my Dad since that time. He has been in the hospital 3 times and it is not a good time to try and move him to our home .......In the mean time I have not been able to paint of course.....not until recently.....I am in central Texas....the landscape is a little different than Ga. of course.....I will post some more pics of my surroundings and some new paintings soon

11x14 oil on canvas panel....attempt at change....this is a scrape down(which i hear some artist are incorporating into their approach, but i did not see the demo) of semi finished painting.... am not sure of where this will take me....but i do know it is fun and satisfies the yearning to explore new creative avenues....this may be worked on some more tomorrow unless i get some feed back as to otherwise....this was plein air at the "cotton pickin" fair grounds in gay, ga. thanks to David Boyd for inviting us to paint with him and giving us a tour of the area.... it was beautiful and great fun

18x24 oil....this was the first painting challenge of a 3 day workshop with marc chatov....this was probably the most difficult art workshop i have ever attempted.....i was very nervous and had a hard time grasping the whole concept of his approach in the beginning....this painting was not finished, but i was some what pleased with the colors...... did not get a good likeness of the model and the head seems a bit too large for the body, but i think i can work on that....... marc was a wonderful instructor..... i feel that i really walked away with a new sense of seeing color and mass.....really enjoyed all of the other artist and learned from seeing all of the different ways they handled the same subject..............2nd pose below

16x20 oil.....this painting is from the 3rd day of marc chatov workshop.....we began the same as on the first day with massing in shapes.... 1st ....triangles, rectangles, cones, tubes, etc. then massing in colors....i was physically and emotionally exhausted after 3 days....i have never painted with such intensity.........but i suppose it is because human anatomy is very difficult for me.....but once again i did walk away with a new way of seeing color in skin tone and just being able to see, really see what you are looking at....but it is truly exhausting!

this is what i had when i left the field...i was not happy with the colors....thought they were too dull, so i worked in the studio and used a little of my artistic license and ended up with the painting below....do you think i should have left it alone? ....tell the truth.....i need some input!......actually, after looking at the one below, i can see the impression of an old car in front of the dark bush to the right.....maybe i will post another with an old car added....have i been painting alone for too long over Christmas?....
